2011-2012 Orchestra Officers

Leah Dieker - President

Leah has played the cello for 10 years now. It is her fourth year in symphony orchestra. Her hobbies include, playing cello, singing, reading, Twitter, eating, watching "The Office", running, and serving ice cream at Poppy's. Her favorite thing about symphony is the opportunity to "make music with my peers".

Sarah Wenger - Vice-President

Sarah started playing the violin when she was 3, that means she's been playing for 15 years! She is the co-concert master of the KC Youth Symphony, along with a 3 year all stater. She enjoys surfing in Hawaii, shopping, horseback riding, yoga, and choir. She loves orchestra "mainly because of Mr. Keeney. He's so accepting and supportive, and makes orchestra completely hilarious.

Kelly Phelan - Secretary

Kelly has been playing the cello for over 10 years. This is her fourth year in symphony orchestra. Kelly is also active in theater and choir. "Kelly enjoys Keeney jokes, and long peaceful walks across 39th Street, during rush hour." Her hobby's include being overly dramatic, violent tap dancing, KC Juice, and St. Paul's Episcopal Westport. "To Kelly, orchestra is a family and a really big long party."

Brooke Green - Treasurer

Brooke has played the violin since 4th grade. She is currently a 2nd Violin. Her hobbies include gymnastics, Future Educators of America, National Honor Society, Cheerleading, and coaching at Xtreme Gymnastics. Brookes likes how "Keeney makes playing fun, and how we are all like one big family."

And for Brooke's final words: "IMMA BEAST!"

Claire Klawuhn - Librarian

Claire has been playing the viola for five years. Her hobbies include tennis, wake boarding, and hanging with friends. She is also very involved at North with FEA, FBLA, Spanish Club, Bronco Literacy Society, Bronco Smart, and National Honor Society. And lastly, she works as a tennis assistant and an employee at Backyard Burgers (she is one busy girl!) Claire likes how "our orchestra is one big family. Orchestra has always been the class I can look forward to because I know my friends and Mr. Keeney will be there."

Aaron Kravish - Historian

Aaron has been playing the viola for nine years. His hobbies include homework and procrastination (or maybe that's supposed to say homework procrastination). His activities include Gay Straight Alliance, scholar bowl, Kazoo pit, and being an IB Dip Can. His favorite things about orchestra is the people and the songs we play. When asked what he enjoys doing with his free time he answered, "make up something exciting if you want to..", and then later wrote, " <3 I like long walks on the beach and romantic dinners lit only by candles and the moonlight <3."
