Welcome to the Lee's Summit
North Community Service Site.

Below is some information about the community service program.

The Lee's Summit R-7 School Board requires all students receiving a diploma to complete 10 hours of community service.
Those minimum, approved hours should be submitted to the community service coordinator by the end of the student's junior year.

All documented service hours, including those above the minimum requirement, should be submitted to the community service coordinator to remain a part of the students permanent file. The expectation of most universities is that community service is a part of every background. Some scholarships may depend on verifiable community service hours. A+ hours may also be used to count towards the 10 hours. Mission trips are accepted if the service has been performed out in the community.

All projects that are not posted must be pre-approved by the Community Service Coordinator. There is no obligation to accept projects that have not been pre-approved. Many service project ideas are posted on the community service bulletin board located on the second floor of LSN near 2128.

Students are responsible for making the necessary contacts to schedule service hours. Community service cards are available in the main office, guidance office, or room 2128. Cards should be taken to the service site at the time work is completed and must be signed by an adult supervisor present at the project location. All information on the cards needs to be complete. Cards will not be accepted with a parent's signature as the supervisor.

Service cards should be taken to room 2128 and given directly to the service coordinator who will will sign it and return a copy to the student. Accumulation of service hours to be counted towards the community service requirement may begin in the summer of the student's eighth-grade year.
