Jennie Finch

 

Childhood of Jennie Finch: Jennie Finch was born on September 3, 1980, in La Mirada, California. Jennie has two parents name Doug and Bev, and has two brothers, Shane and Landon. She first joined her first lil miss league T-ball after her fith birthday. As Jennie Excelled in softball over the years, she began pitching because sheJenniehad a good arm on her. Her dad did anything to excell her and to put her out to acompetitive softball team. By age nine she was in an 10 and under softballtravenlingall-star team. Every weekend she played softball all her summer. Her farther trainedher all the time to get her better. At age 12 Jennie led the CaliforniaCruisers to the 12-and-under American Softball Association national title in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As theyears went on Jennie started getting more into softball. Everyday she was practicing softball and playing it too. She did anything to excell at the sport. At age 14 she led her team to get the crown for her softball team. When highschool came she made the softball varsity team her freshman year and led them 4 straight years to Suburban league. She also lettered in softball and volleyball, but softball was her main sport she excelled in. Sophmore in highschool she was dominating and getting alot of honors. Her senior year she dominated the pitching mound striking out every batter that was up.

 

Jennie's softball Carerr: Attended the University of Arizona, Tucson. The dominant pitcher/player in collegiate softball, Finch finished the 2001 season with a 32-0 pitchingsoftball player record to establish the NCAA record... Earned the Honda Softball Award as the national Player of the Year... Received Most Outstanding Player honors after posting a 3-0 record in Women's College World Series... Earned first-team All-America honors... 2001 Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year... Along with a number of other Cats, Finch earned Louisville Slugger All-Pacific Region honors and WCWS All-Tournament honors... First-team All-Pac-10 honors... Finch had an ERA of 0.54 and tossed her fifth career no-hitter... Finch has a streak of 40 consecutive victories, No. 2 in the NCAA record book, entering 2002 play... Struck out a career-high 14 twice, against South Carolina and Stanford, plus had back-to-back 13 K games against the Cardinal. Finch's 29-2 record in 2000 and her 0.79 ERA earned her first-team All-America honors as an at-large selection... Her power at the plate tied her with a team-high 16 home runs.
